PUBLIC ART

History Shaped

Reaching 15’ high, this city commissioned stainless steel piece sits proudly on the South side of the Main Street Bridge that crosses the Charles River in Charles City, Iowa. History Shaped represents the rich history of Charles City in the 1970’s and 1980’s.

Liquid Reverence

As part of Cardio Vascular System’s (CSI) outdoor campus redesign, this bench was chosen for it’s design and concept. CSI’s medical device restores blood flow though vessels in the same way this bench gives a nod to how water affects stone. Over time water will smooth surfaces, fade cracks, and given enough resources … water runs clear and free.

TAB KEY

The Tab Key sets us ahead 5 spaces at a time, we should all be aware of those 5 spaces. The stone column base was one of the cornerstones of the first Federal Building in Minneapolis. Tab Key saw lots of press and many Minnesota Art Walks including Mankato, Minneapolis and Edina. (Best in show in Edina!)

TIME STAMP

Charles City High School Class of 1985 commissioned this 10'L x 4'W memorial bench after losing many classmates to suicide. Made with a steel base and Cornelia Granite from South Dakota, this massive piece sits in front of the high school as an inclusive gathering space. The phrase “Creating hope through action” etched in stone speaks to mental health awareness. The design of the base will challenge your roman numeral knowledge!

Martha’s garden shelf

This custom built shelving unit was designed and built to fit into a specific space perfectly for display and storage in this exotic flower shop. White washed live edge shelves with painted mild steel frame.

Bluschia Bower / Hiccup

Worked with Minnesota Special Services (mssmn.org) clientele through 4 week hands-on workshop classes. Guided special needs adults through conceptualization, design, application, naming and installing these benches. Exceptionally fun time for all! Permanent pieces on MSS campus in Saint Paul, MN
